National headlines were made when the Incline Village General Improvement District announced its implementatin of the "Incline Village Golf Stimulus Plan." This will offer free golf after 5 p.m. on certain days at the Mountain and Championship golf courses. The benefits of this fairly unprecedented approach shows many potential benefits. IVGID says that it does not want to create unwanted financial burdens so extra staff hours will not be spent during free golf times. However, some sales can be generated in food, beverages and cart rentals. The district deserves credit for doing something great for its residents and surrounding neighbors. These participating courses normally bear a hefty green fee that can be a welcomed relief among those who have been affected by the recession. Some other ideas may include free lessons for beginners and free club rentals. The underlying motive behind this idea is to build rounds at the courses, especially at the Champion. This is a good possiblity. Not only could it offer up this chance, but also, a fun summer activity that lessens the blow on the wallet. Post my comment
