According to a survey by Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan, more than 16% of homeowners say their houses increased in value during the past year. About 75% of homeowners agreed that, with attractive prices and low mortgage rates, the market conditions are good. However, 89% thought that the market for selling a home were poor. Some 43% of home owners reported that their home decreased in value over the past year. Ultimately, homes will rise in value for owners, with the average annual anticipated gain over the next five year to be approximately 2.1%. There is hope!
